Mal is originally from Dublin but has fished the Cavan/Monaghan lakes for 35yrs and has a very good knowledge of their numerous attractions

Now Mal is based in Carrickmacross and has spent the last couple of years learning the local lakes and hotspots under the guidance of legendary guide and retired fishery officer Mr Gerry Duffy.

The Gate Lodge B&B & Angling where Mal entertains most of his many guests only use qualified guides plus the added advantage that a ratio of one guide per two anglers is adhered to at all times. What this means is that every angler gets the full attention and best advise applicable.

Mal and Gerry have access to several boats of various sizes and can accommodate Angling groups of up to Ten. They both have a vast knowledge of the lakes and the form of each lake accordingly. They both hold a certificate for Power Boat handling, First Aid, Child Protection and a specialist skill in Game and Pike Angling.

The Gate Lodge B&B run by Geraldine will provide you with comfortable accommodation, good home made food and plenty of the Ceol agus Craic.
